Do You Slay All Day?

So, clearly if you could not tell by now... I love reviewing products! I promise I will absolutely have fashion posts up in the near future, but I am currently on a beauty "bust" or "buy" -- if you will. Today I am bringing you the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray in Grapefruit. If you have never heard of this brand, it may be because it is still growing. I first learned of it on YouTube years ago when they were selling their makeup in packages with Dial A Smile, and a huge YouTube cult favorite quickly became their Brow Bar To Go.

YouTubers like Carli Bybel and Jaclyn Hill quickly partnered with the company, and GC continued to form connections with social media influencers such as DupeThat, Lizzy Gutierrez, Missy Lynn, Manny MUA, Shannon Harris, and Sophia Chang. Unfortunately, they caught some negative attention when the owner was "bullying" a customer which led Jaclyn Hill to have the company remove her name off the collaboration she created with them (a lip color called 1995, which is still sold; however Hill is no longer affiliated with it). One bad moment in the spotlight did not stop me from giving this product a go, plus they offer some amazing coupons -- typically affiliate codes, which I do not have since I am not an affiliate, but I believe the above collaborators may offer some!

Now, onto the product itself! The spray is a makeup setting spray that retails for $22 on the site (but check for coupon codes, I think I got mine for around $12 with free shipping), and is advertised as both cruelty and gluten free. You get 3.38oz of product and there are seven scents: Cucumber, Grapefruit, Green Tea, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Peach! I purchased Grapefruit because I personally enjoy the scent of many grapefruit things and find it refreshing, and this definitely is! I will note, however, the product does contain a lot of alcohol and you can smell it along with the grapefruit scent. I do not mind because it does dissipate, but I figured I would note that little fact!

The spray nozzle on the bottle is nice and squirts out a soft, even spray. I spray it on my bare skin prior to my makeup application and I find that my makeup applies nicely over top of it. Of course, I also apply it after my makeup is complete and I have to say... it is a pretty good setting spray. My makeup does not separate, it does not make me look matte or dry, and the subtle color tint of the product does not transfer onto my face (each scent has a corresponding color tint... grapefruit is a light lilac/pink color which you can see below).

Overall, I think this is a great beauty buy. It does not irritate my skin and with a coupon, the price point is unbeatable. I have tried the Urban Decay Chill & All Nighter Setting Sprays as well as the Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray for Oil Control, and I find similar results between all three... so at the end of the day, it simply comes down to which is more budget friendly. Also, if you are considering purchasing this spray... please head to the website and read the possible color additives and ingredient list to make sure you do not have an allergy to anything!
